จังหวัดนครสวรรค์มีประวัติความเป็นมาคือ เป็นเมืองโบราณที่ถูกสันนิษฐานว่าตั้งขึ้นในสมัยกรุงสุโขทัย โดยมีชื่ออยู่ในศิลาจารึกเรียกว่า เมืองพระบาง เป็นเมืองหน้าด่านสำคัญในการทำสงครามมาทุกสมัย ตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงสุโขทัย กรุงธนบุรี จนถึงกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ นครสวรรค์ มีชื่อเรียกที่รู้จักกันส่วนใหญ่ในชื่อ ปากน้ำโพ โดยปรากฏเรียกกันมาตั้งแต่ในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา และลักษณะภูมิประเทศของจังหวัดนี้ คือส่วนใหญ่เป็นที่ราบลุ่มเหมาะแก่การเกษตร เป็นที่ราบประมาณ 3 ใน 4 ของพื้นที่จังหวัด มีแม่น้ำสายสำคัญคือ แม่น้ำปิง แม่น้ำยม และแม่น้ำน่าน ไหลมารวมกันเป็น แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา โดยลักษณะภูมิอากาศนั้น มีลักษณะร้อนชื้น มีช่วงฤดูฝนและฤดูแล้งที่เห็นชัดเจน อุณหภูมิต่ำสุด เฉลี่ย 17.90 องศา และอุณหภูมิสูงสุด 40.80 องศา
แหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจของจังหวัดนี้มีแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจหลายรูปแบบ ทั้งวัด โบราณสถาน แหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติ เช่น บึงบอระเพ็ด อุทยานแห่งชาติแม่วงก์ วัดจอมคีรีนาคพรต วัดวรนาถบรรพต และในความคิดเห็นส่วนตัวฉันขอแนะนำสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติ คือ บึงบอระเพ็ด เพราะเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่สวยงามที่สุดในประเทศไทยและยังเป็นบึงที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศไทย อยู่ในพื้นที่ของอำเภอ 3 อำเภอ ได้แก่ อำเภอเมืองนครสววรรค์อำเภอท่าตะโก และอำเภอชุมแสง เดิมบึงบอระเพ็ดแห่งนี้มีชื่อว่า ทะเลเหนือ หรือ จอมบึง เนื่องจากมีสัตว์และพันธุ์พืชน้ำเป็นจำนวนมาก ในส่วนของอาหารการกิน ที่จังหวัดนี้ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นอาหารที่เกี่ยวกับปลาเนื่องจากที่นี่มีปลาชุมจึงเป็นไปได้ง่ายที่จะหาร้านอาหารแล้วสั่งเมนูปลามารับประทานได้อย่างอร่อย
สุดท้ายนี้ฉันอยากแนะนำให้อาจารย์และเพื่อนๆ ได้ลองไปเที่ยวที่จังหวัดนครสววรค์เพราะเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจอีกสถานที่หนึ่งของประเทศไทยเลยก็ว่าได้
