งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาการผสมผสานเทคโนโลยีการออกแบบบ้านประหยัดพลังงาน (Green building) เป็นลักษณะการสร้างบ้านประหยัดพลังงาน ซึ่งปัจจุบันมีวัสดุที่ช่วยลดพลังงานไฟฟ้าอย่างแพร่หลาย กอปรกับปัจจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงส่งผลต่อการบริโภคพลังงานให้เพิ่มขึ้น งานวิจัยนี้ได้แบ่ง การผสมผสานเทคโนโลยีการออกแบบบ้านประหยัดพลังงานออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ (1) การเลือกใช้เทคโนโลยีที่เหมาะสม ผสมผสานระหว่างการใช้ระบบธรรมชาติและระบบเครื่องกลให้ทำงานร่วมกัน ในเรื่องระบบแสงสว่าง LEED, BREEAM, CASBEE และเครื่องระบายความร้อน CCHP และ (2) การเลือกใช้ฉนวนกันความร้อน ที่เป็นวัสดุผนังบ้านและวัสดุหลังคาให้เหมาะสม ได้แก่ การเลือกชนิดของพืชที่เหมาะสมตามสภาวะอากาศ (Green roof) และประสิทธิภาพหลังคา พร้อมทั้งการประเมินต้นทุนด้านพลังงาน จากการศึกษาพบว่า
