จำแนกการศึกษาออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1.ผู้พัฒนาแอปพลิเคชั่น(developer) ได้ทำการศึกษาโดยการสัมภาษณ์ผ่านทางโทรศัพท์ จำนวน 5 คน 2. ผู้ใช้แอปพลิเคชั่น(user) ได้ทำการศึกษาโดยการทำแบบสอบถามออนไลน์ จำนวน 120 คน มาทำการศึกษา

ผลการวิจัยพบว่าปัจจัยสำคัญที่ผู้พัฒนาแอพลิเคชั่น(developer)จะการเลือกระบบปฏิบัติการเกิดจากความต้องการของลูกค้า ซึ่งในประเทศไทยยังไม่มีผู้พัฒนาทำแอพพลิเคชั่นออกจำหน่ายให้กับผู้ใช้โดยตรงมากนักแต่จะเน้นพัฒนาเพื่อใช้ในองค์กรมากกว่า
ในส่วนของผู้ใช้แอปพลิเคชั่นพบว่าการเลือกใช้งานของ แอนดอย เกิดจากระบบของแอนดอยเอง ในขณะที่ผู้ใช้งาน ไอโอเอสเลือกใช้ระบบด้วยปัจจัยของตัวระบบปฎิบัติการและแบรนด์ในสัดส่วนที่ไม่แตกต่างกัน
