วัตถุประสงค์



1.เพื่อเทิดพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช

2.เพื่อเป็นแหล่งรวบรวม ศึกษาและวิจัยพันธุ์พืชเขตร้อนในวงศ์ต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งขยายพันธุ์พืชหายากและใกล้สูญพันธุ์

3.เป็นแหล่งเผยแพร่และถ่ายทอดความรู้ทางวิชาการ

4.เป็นแหล่งศึกษาเรียนรู้นันทนาการ และการท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติในระดับท้องถิ่นและระดับภูมิภาค

5.เพื่อเป็นแหล่งเรือนพักรับรองของนักเรียนค่ายโอลิมปิกวิชาการของศูนย์มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ และแหล่งค่ายพักแรมของกลุ่มนักเรียนทั่วไป

6.เป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและเสริมสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดีแก่ชุมชน
