โรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญธนบุรี ได้ก่อตั้งข

โรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญธนบุรี ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2504 เป็นโรงเรียนเอกชนลำดับที่ 8 ที่ก่อตั้งโดยมูลนิธิคณะเซนต์คาเบรียลแห่งประเทศไทย จากความประสงค์ของภราดาผู้ใหญ่ที่ต้องการให้มีโรงเรียนในฝั่งธนบุรี หรือจังหวัดธนบุรี ในสมัยนั้น เพราะในขณะนั้นโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญและโรงเรียนเซนต์คาเบรียล ทั้ง 2 โรงเรียนไม่สามารถรองรับจำนวนนักเรียนที่มาสมัครเข้าเรียนเป็นจำนวนมากได้เพียงพอ ด้วยเหตุนี้เอง เจษฎาธิการ ภราดายอห์น แมรี่ เยซู ซาลาส เอสควิโรส และเจษฎาจารย์ ภ.ฮีแลร์ จึงได้นำเรื่องนี้ หารือกับนายไถง สุวรรณทัต ศิษย์เก่าอาวุโสโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ ที่กำลังเปิดโครงการจัดสรรที่ดินขนาดใหญ่แห่งแรกของประเทศไทย นายไถง สุวรรณฑัต จึงได้บริจาคที่ดินเนื้อที่ทั้งหมด 56 ไร่ 1 งาน 9 ตารางวา ในบริเวณหมู่บ้านเศรษฐกิจ เพื่อก่อสร้างโรงเรียน ต่อมาทางโรงเรียนได้มีการพัฒนาขึ้นตามลำดับ จึงได้มีการจัดซื้อที่ดินเพิ่มอีกเป็นจำนวน 79 ไร่ 44 ตารางวา ทางทิศเหนือของโรงเรียน จนถึงปัจจุบัน โรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญธนบุรีมีอาคารเรียนและอาคารประกอบจำนวน 23 หลัง แบ่งเป็นห้องเรียน 99 ห้อง ห้องสมุด ห้องคอมพิวเตอร์ ห้องปฏิบัติการวิทยาศาสตร์ ห้องดนตรี ห้องแนะแนว ห้องปฏิบัติการภาษาต่างประเทศ ห้องพยาบาล ห้องไฟฟ้า ห้องโสตทัศน์ ห้องกิจกรรมชมรมต่าง ๆ ห้องอาคารครู ห้องอาหารนักเรียน และอื่น ๆ มีคอมพิวเตอร์มากกว่า 600 เครื่อง และเครื่องดนตรีมากกว่า 500 ชิ้น [4][5][6]
