ตอนเด็ก ๆ ฉันมักได้ยินคำว่า “พ่อของแผ่นดิน” เสมอแต่ตอนนั้นฉันก็ยังไม่รู้ว่ามันหมายถึงอะไรแต่ตอนนี้ฉันได้รู้แล้วว่าพ่อของแผ่นดินนั้นหมายถึง พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช หรือ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช มหาราช รัชกาลที่ ๙ พระมหากษัตริย์องค์ปัจจุบัน พ่อของคนไทยทั้งปวงนั้นเอง

จากที่ฉันได้ติดตามดูพ่อผู้รักและหวังดีกับลูก ๆ ตามสื่อต่าง ๆ ตลอดมานั้น ฉันก็ได้รู้ว่าพ่อของเรา ทรงตระหนักถึง การพัฒนาการศึกษาของเยาวชนและทรงคิดว่ามัน เป็นพื้นฐานอันสำคัญของประเทศชาติ และนอกเหนือจากนี้ ยังทรงก่อตั้งกองทุนนวฤกษ์ มูลนิธิในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ เพื่อช่วยให้นักเรียนที่ขาดแคลนทุนทรัพย์ ได้มีโอกาสเข้ารับการศึกษาในระดับประถมศึกษา และระดับมัธยมศึกษา ทั้งยังพระราชทานพระราชทรัพย์ส่วนของพ่อเอง เพื่อเป็นทุนริเริ่มในการก่อสร้างโรงเรียนตามวัดในชนบท สำหรับที่จะสงเคราะห์เด็กยากจนและกำพร้า ให้ได้มีสถานที่สำหรับศึกษาเล่าเรียน เพื่อที่จะได้เป็นพลเมืองดีของประเทศชาติต่อไปในอนาคต และในเรื่องของการช่วยเหลือจังหวัดประสบปัญหาด้านต่าง ๆนั้นพ่อก็ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนจังหวัดนั้น ๆ และทรงนำความปรารถนาดีของประชาชนชาวไทยไปยังจังหวัดที่ประสบปัญหาต่างๆตามจังหวัดนั้นด้วย ในการเสด็จพระราชดำเนินของพ่อใน แต่ละครั้งที่ไปทรงเยี่ยมราษฎรตามท้องที่ต่างๆ ทุกครั้ง จะทรงโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้มีคณะแพทย์ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในแต่ละสาขาจากโรงพยาบาลต่างๆ และล้วนเป็นอาสาสมัครทั้งสิ้น และ พร้อมด้วยเวชภัณฑ์และเครื่องมือแพทย์ครบครัน เพื่อพร้อมที่จะให้การรักษาพยาบาลลูก ๆ ผู้ป่วยไข้ได้ทันที นอกจากนี้พ่อยัง ทรงโปรดให้จัดเจ้าหน้าที่ออกเดินทาง ไปรักษาลูก ๆที่ป่วยเจ็บ ตามหมู่บ้านที่อยู่ห่างไกลออกไปอีกด้วย และ ยังคงมีโครงการดี ๆเพื่อพัฒนาลูก ๆ และประเทศชาติ ออกมาอย่างมิขาดสาย อย่างเช่น โครงการเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง เป็นต้น และโครงการนี้นี้เองที่ทำให้พ่อได้รับรางวัลสาขาต่าง ๆมากมายจากประเทศต่าง ๆ ซึ่งทำให้ฉันได้เห็นและประจักษ์แล้วว่าพ่อทรงมีสายพระเนตรที่ยาวไกล และ จากน้ำพระราชหฤทัยที่พ่อทรงได้ทำทุกอย่างเพื่อลูก ๆ กว่า ๖๐ ล้านคนทั่วประเทศของพ่ออย่างแท้จริง ทั้งนี้ทั้งนั้นในขณะนี้ก็ทรงครบการครองสิริราชสมบัติครบ ๖0 ปี ในวันที่ ๙ มิถุนายน ๒๕๔๙ นี้เอง

จากที่ฉันติดตามเรื่องราวของพ่อมาตลอดนั้นมันทำให้ฉันได้รู้ว่า พ่อทรงห่วงใย ใส่ใจ ลูกของพ่อ กว่า ๖๐ ล้านคน อย่างไม่เคยแสดง ความเหน็ดเหนื่อย เมื่อยล้า และ ถ้อถอย ออกมาให้เห็นเลยสักครั้ง ซึ่งมันทำให้ฉันประทับใจในความรักของพ่อผู้เป็นประมุข คนนี้ ใจในเสมอมา และฉันก็เคยฝันไว้ว่าสักครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิตฉันคงจะมีโอกาสได้ไปกราบแทบเท้าพ่อสักครั้ง
