วัดเขมาภิรตารามราชวรวิหาร ตั้งอยู่บ

วัดเขมาภิรตารามราชวรวิหาร ตั้งอยู่บนฝั่งตะวันออกของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ในเขตตำบลสวนใหญ่ ห่างจากตัวเมืองมาทางด้านใต้ประมาณ 2 กิโลเมตร ด้านหน้าของวัดติดริมฝั่งแม่น้ำ ส่วนด้านหลังติดถนนพิบูลสงคราม มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 26 ไร่เศษ เป็นพระอารามหลวงชั้นโทชนิดราชวรวิหาร สร้างขึ้นในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนต้นเรียกว่า “วัดเขมา” ต่อมาในสมัยกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์เป็นวัดที่อยู่ในสังกัดบัญชีกฐินหลวงของกรมพระราชวังบวรฯ ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 2 สมเด็จพระศรีสุริเยนทรามาตย์ พระบรมราชินี ทรงขอวัดนี้มาอยู่ในพระบรมราชินูปถัมภ์ และทรงปฏิสังขรณ์ใหม่เรียกว่า วัดเขมา ยังไม่มีสร้อยต่อท้ายต่อมาสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 ได้ทรงปฏิสังขรณ์ใหม่ทั้งพระอาราม และพระราชทานสร้อยนามต่อท้ายว่า “วัดเขมาภิรตาราม” ปีพ.ศ. 2525 พระราชวงศ์จักรีมีอายุ 200 ปี มีพิธีสมโภชกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ คณะกรรมการวัด มีความเห็นว่าวัดนี้มีความสำคัญกับราชวงศ์จักรี พระบรมวงศานุวงศ์ทรงให้ความอุปถัมภ์บำรุงมาตลอด จึงมีมติสร้างศาลาอเนกประสงค์ชื่อศาลา 200 ปี กรุงรัตนโกสินทร์
ภายในวัดมีพระมหาเจดีย์ สูง 30 เมตร ตั้งอยู่ด้านหลังโบสถ์ บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ พระประธานเป็นพระพุทธรูปหล่อเก่าแก่ ศิลปะสมัยอยุธยาอัญเชิญมาจากพระราชวังจันทร์เกษม ภายในวัดมีพระตำหนักแดงและพระที่นั่งมณเฑียรตั้งอยู่ด้วย
