Parts of Speech (พาร์ท ออฟ สปีช)

Part of Speech หมายความว่า คำชนิดต่างๆในภาษาอังกฤษ เป็นการนำคำต่างๆมาเรียงให้เป็นวลี หรือประโยคที่มีความหมาย สามารถนำไปใช้ในบทสนทนา หรือนำไปเขียนหนังสือได้ มีทั้งหมด 7 ชนิด โดยในแต่ละชนิดนั้นจะมีหน้าที่แตกต่างกันออกไป ได้แก่

1.Noun (คำนาม)
เป็นคำที่ใช้เรียกคน ชื่อคน สิ่งของ สัตว์ ทั้งที่มีชีวิตและไม่มีชีวิต มีรูปร่างหรือไม่มีรูปร่าง และยังรวมไปไปถึงสถานที่ และความรู้สึกต่างๆ

คน: boy, girl, father, mother, teacher
สัตว์: cat, dog, bird, elephant, horse
สิ่งของ: pencil, book, table, car
ชื่อคน: Tom, John, Mary, Anny
สถานที่: school, hospital, house, store
ความรู้สึก: happiness, sadness


2.Pronoun (สรรพนาม)
เป็นคำที่ใช้เรียกแทนคำนามของสิ่งที่ถูกพูดมาก่อนแล้ว มีจุดหมายเพื่อเลี่ยงการเรียกชื่อคำนามซ้ำๆ เช่น ผม คุณ เธอ เขา ท่าน มัน และสามารถใช้เรียกสิ่งที่ไม่รู้ก็ได้ เป็นต้น

I = ผม, ฉัน He = เขา She = เธอ, หล่อน

It = มัน(สิ่งของ หรือสัตว์) They = พวกเขา You = คุณ, พวกคุณ

We = พวกเรา, เรา Something = สิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่ง(ที่เราไม่รู้)







3.Adjective (คำคุณศัพท์)
เป็นคำที่มีหน้าที่อธิบายหรือขยายคำนามหรือคำสรรพนาม ที่เป็นการลงรายละเอียดบอกคุณสมบัติของสิ่งนั้น จำพวก สี ขนาด รูปร่าง ท่าทาง เช่น

She bought a new toy. : เธอซื้อของเล่นใหม่ (ขยายคำสรรพนาม)

That bird is blue. : นกตัวนั้นมีสีน้ำเงิน (ขยายคำนาม)

He is a rich man. : เขาเป็นคนรวย (ขยายคำสรรพนาม)

My school is very old. : โรงเรียนของฉันเก่ามาก (ขยายคำนาม)



4.Verb (คำกริยา)
เป็นคำที่บอกการกระทำ, ความเป็นอยู่, สภาวะความเป็นอยู่ของคำนาม หรือคำสรรพนาม

He kicks the ball. : เขาเตะลูกบอล

The dog barks at a boy. : สุนัขเห่าใส่เด็กผู้ชาย

Tom is a teacher. : ทอมเป็นคุณครู

She seems alright. : เธอดูสบายดีนะ



5.Adverb (วิเศษณ์ หรือกริยาวิเศษณ์)
เป็นคำที่มีหน้าที่อธิบายหรือขยายคุณศัพท์ คำกริยา หรือแม้แต่คำวิเศษณ์เอง

My school is very old. : โรงเรียนของฉันเก่ามาก (ขยายคำคุณศัพท์)

He works hard. : เขาทำงานหนัก (ขยายคำกริยา)

He works very hard. : เขาทำงานหนักมาก (ขยายคำวิเศษณ์)

6.Preposition (คำบุพบท)
เป็นคำที่วางอยู่หน้าคำนามหรือคำสรรพนาม เพื่อบ่งบอกว่าคำนามหรือคำสรรพนามนั้นมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับคำอื่นๆในประโยคอย่างไรบ้าง เช่น in, on, at, with, within

He comes with me. : เขามากับฉัน

Cat is on the tree: แมวอยู่บนต้นไม้

He is in the toilet: เขาอยู่ในห้องน้ำ



7.Conjunction (คำสันธาน)
เป็นคำที่ใช้เชื่ยมคำหรือประโยคเข้าด้วยกันเพื่อให้ประโยคมีความสมบูรณ์มากขึ้น เช่น and, or, but, for

Tom and Tim are good friends. : ทอมและจิมเป็นเพื่อนที่ดี

Would you like tea or coffee? : คุณจะเอาชาหรือกาแฟ

I want to help him, but I can’t. : ผมก็อยากช่วยเขาแต่ผมทำไม่ได้



8.Interjection (คำอุทาน)
เป็นคำที่ใช้แสดงถึงอารมณ์ และความรู้สึกที่เกิดขึ้น แต่เป็นคำที่ไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับคำประเภทอื่นๆเลย

Wow! You are very beautiful. : ว้าว! เธอสวยมากเลย

Damn it! I forgot my wallet. : ให้ตายสิ! ฉันลืมกระเป๋าตัง

Oops! I’m sorry. : อุ๊ยตาย! ฉันขอโทษ
