วันแม่แห่งชาติ เป็นวันที่ทางราชการกำหนดในวันที่ 12 สิงหาคม ของทุกปี และถือว่าเป็นวันสำคัญยิ่งของปวงชนชาวไทย โดยกำหนดให้ถือว่า “ดอกมะลิ” สีขาวบริสุทธิ์เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความดีงามของแม่ผู้ให้กำเนิดแก่เรา
