การศึกษาไทยในปัจจุบัน เป็นยุคสังคมแห่งการเรียนรู้ที่เปิดกว้าง มีหลากหลายรูปแบบให้มนุษย์ได้ศึกษาค้นคว้าด้วยตัวเองได้อย่างรวดเร็วโดยการนำเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่เข้ามาพัฒนารูปแบบการจัดการศึกษาในสถานศึกษาของไทย เพื่อให้ก้าวทันโลกยุคใหม่ที่ไร้ขอบเขตภายใต้จินตนาการของมนุษย์ที่สร้างขึ้น การศึกษาเป็นกระบวนการเรียนรู้ที่เกิดขึ้นได้ทุกที่ทุกเวลาจะเห็นได้ว่า สถานศึกษาต่างๆไม่ว่าจะเป็นขนาดเล็ก ขนาดกลาง ขนาดใหญ่และใหญ่พิเศษสิ่งที่จำเป็นและหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ คือ  คอมพิวเตอร์และระบบอินเตอร์เน็ท  สถานศึกษาทุกแห่งมีความต้องการใช้เท่าๆกัน ความรู้ความเข้าใจที่ทุกคนต้องเข้าไปให้ถึงโลกแห่งสังคมการเรียนรู้และใช้เทคโนโลยีเป็นจะทำให้เกิดคุณค่าและประโยชน์สูงสุดต่อตัวเองแต่ในทางกลับกันหากใช้อย่างผิดวิธี ก็อาจทำให้เกิดความสูญเสีย ก็เป็นได้ 

แต่ในปัจจุบันสถานศึกษาบางแห่งอาจจะไม่ได้รับจัดสรรคอมพิวเตอร์จากภาครัฐเลยก็มีหรืออาจจะไม่มีระบบอินเตอร์เน็ทใช้ก็คงมีอยู่หรือได้รับการติดตั้งเป็นแบบจานดาวเทียมแต่ใช้งานไม่ได้ 
ดังนั้นหากรัฐบาลจะส่งเสริมให้เด็กและเยาวชนได้เรียนรู้โลกกว้างอย่างเท่าเทียมกัน ภาครัฐต้องจัดสรรวัสดุอุปกรณ์เทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยให้กับสถานศึกษาอย่างจริงจังจัดสรรครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษาที่มีความรู้ความชำนาญด้านการใช้เทคโนโลยีมาทำการจัดการเรียนการสอนให้กับเด็กและเยาวชนเหล่านั้น หรือพัฒนาครูที่มีอยู่ให้มีความรู้พร้อมที่จะเรียนรู้และสอนเด็กและเยาวชนได้อย่างมีคุณภาพในสถานการณ์ปัจจุบันสถานศึกษาทุกแห่งจำเป็นต้องใช้เทคโนโลยีในการติดต่อสื่อสาร  การเข้าถึงข้อมูลสารสนเทศ การค้นคว้าหาความรู้จากแหล่งต่าง ๆ ทั้งภายในและต่างประเทศ
