โรงเรียนเห็นความสำคัญของป่า จึงจัดกิจกรรมปลูกป่าขึ้นทุกปีตั้งแต่ปี 1999 ผืนป่าที่อุดมสมบูรณ์เริ่มแผ่ขยายพื้นที่กว้างออกไปทุกปี ด้วยความร่วมมือทั้งจากบุคลากรในโรงเรียน ผู้ปกครอง ชุมชน และหน่วยงานต่างๆทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน ที่ต้องการอยากจะเห็นภูเขาในท้องถิ่นกลับมาเขียวชอุ่มอีกครั้ง

โดยโรงเรียนได้บูรณาการความรู้เรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อมไปสู่วิชาต่างๆ ทำให้นักเรียนสนใจที่จะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการดูแลรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม ทางโรงเรียนจึงได้จัดกิจกรรมปลูกป่า และ ดูแลแหล่งน้ำตามชุมชนอย่างต่อเนื่อง เช่น กิจกรรมฟื้นฟูป่าต้นน้ำลำปะทาว วัดป่ามหาวัน ชมรมเด็กรักนก การปลูกป่าที่ภูหลง โดยในอนาคตทางโรงเรียนต้องการขยายเครือข่ายให้มากขึ้น
