วันคริสต์มาสเป็นเทศกาลที่สำคัญเทศกาลหนึ่งของชาวคริสต์ ซึ่งเป็นเทศกาลฉลองการประสูติของพระเยซู เทศกาลคริสต์มาสจะจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 24 และ 25 ธันวาคมของทุกปี ในบางประเทศคริสต์มาสอาจจะเริ่มก่อนหน้านั้นประมาณหนึ่งเดือน เรียกว่า “แอดเวนท์” และจะสิ้นสุดลงในวันที่ 6 มกราคมซึ่งเป็นวันที่นักปราชญ์สามคนที่มาจากทิศตะวันออกนำของขวัญมามอบแก่พระกุมารเยชู ด้วยเหตุนี้ในคืนวันที่ 6 มกราคม จึงเป็นคืนแห่งการมอบของขวัญในหลาย ๆ แห่งของโลก
