GENERAL



The SUPER GYRO TOWER 1200/110M consists of a high quality steel tubular structure with a spherical cabin for scenic viewing. This tower operates almost noiselessly and requires very little ground space.


The slender tower is free standing on its own foundation and the circular cabin around the outside of the tower functions as a viewing platform. Passengers are accommodated in the cabin, which is raised and lowered while rotating slowly, thus offering full panoramic views. Outside cabin panels of shatterproof safety glass protect the passengers from wind and weather.


The cabin, fully panoramic – the windows in front of the passengers as well as in the back wall of the cabins offer a breathtaking view in all directions - is built for comfortable and at the same time efficient loading and unloading. The cabin is equipped with seat benches electric lights, telephone and a control panel for operation by an attendant. The two cabin doors, closed and opened automatically, are interlocked so that operation cannot start with the doors open. The automatic operation is started and supervised by the cabin attendant. To facilitate inspection and maintenance a slow speed is part of the program. As an option (depending on the climate conditions), the cabin can be equipped with air conditioning. Also available as an option is an audio system.


The undercarriage of the cabin is suspended from several steel cables, running upwards and downwards on guide rails and is equipped with safety brakes. The cabin holds 80 persons and is mounted on the undercarriage so it can rotate slowly, driven by electric motors.


The hoisting machinery consists of a conventional friction-shave hoist drive with variable speed motor located on top of the tower. The cabin weight and part of the payload are balanced by the counter-weight inside the tower for economical power requirement. There is a telephone connection between the cabin and the ground station.


The tower consist of approx. 91 m (299 ft) slender steel tube, 2,75 m (9 ft) in diameter, which is imbedded in a concrete foundation and reaches approx. 86 m (282 ft) above

At this time, no budget has been considered for external illumination and/or special theming/decoration.

A proper quotation can be only made after the complete decoration and extent have been made known to us. It needs to be noted that the size and the weight of any decoration/theming is limited, otherwise the thickness of the tower structure needs to be amended,

which will increase the overall price of the tower.

A detailed spare parts list for the electrical and mechanical equipment used on the ride will be provided at least 3 months before the rides public operation based on discussions on the level of spares actually required.

By this it is ensured that the Buyer can order the needed spare parts in time so that they arrive together with the ride at the site. If recommended spare parts are not ordered or not made available by the Buyer during commissioning of the ride, any delay due the non-availability of such parts and all related consequences is the Buyer’s responsibility.

Intamin's rides are designed not only to minimise the cost of maintenance, but also by the use of commercially available components from leading suppliers. By this and wherever possible, the buyer can generally source many parts from local suppliers. Parts which are to be replaced during commissioning may be taken from Buyer’s stocks and replaced free of charge by the Supplier.


1 1 . A d v i s o r y S e r v i c e - O P T I O N

Optionally, Intamin can offer a package of 125 man-days for advisory service, both for installation and for the ride testing and commissioning as well as training of the operation-staff during the erection and testing schedule, as long as the staff to be trained does have sufficient theoretical knowledge, extended work experience in similar fields and speaks fluently English. The number of man-days for training amounts up to 5 and is included in the above mentioned total number of 125 man-days. The cost for this option is shown under Chapter E, Options.

The package of man-days is considered sufficient for this type of ride, conditional to an uninterrupted work progress, no delays due to other work carried out along the ride and the installation team (mechanics/electricians), provided by the Buyer, is of a sufficient number, English speaking, knowledgeable and properly equipped.

Site Acceptance Test Plans will be submitted for review and approval. The suggested package of man-days includes testing of the safety devices, critical components and monitoring elements onsite.

The goods are fabricated according to the Factory Quality Management Plans but no tests of subassemblies at the factory are included.

The Buyer is responsible to grant access to transports, heavy equipments (cranes) and suppliers personnel. The Buyer will also make all necessary preparations of the construction site, like fencing, suitable lay-down area adjacent to the installation site (to

amusement park rides can reasonably be expected to be owned by an experienced contractor in this field of business and therefore is not part of Intamin’s scope of supply (no “normal” tools are included in this proposal).

Any specialty tools, which are ride specific and cannot reasonably be expected in the possession of the Owner, will be provided by Intamin.

Internal lightning protection for the equipment supplied by Intamin is included. Not included however are lightning rods, grounding rods, etc.

1 5 . T U V - A p p r o v a l - O P T I O N

Intamin will provide to the client all documents for that particular ride necessary for the local authority approval.

As an option, Intamin can provide a TUV-approval of the design and calculations. The cost for this option is shown under Chapter E, Options.


1 6 . T r a n s p o r t a t i o n - O P T I O N

The cost for transportation of Intamin’s scope of supply is not included in this proposal, but can be offered as an option once the destination, the exact scope of supply and the time of shipment are determined.
