โครงงานศึกษาเรื่อง การศึกษาปรับปรุงวิธีการทำงานเพื่อลดเวลาในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตน้ำดื่ม มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์หาสาเหตุความล่าช้าในการทำงานและเพื่อปรับปรุงกระบวนการผลิตน้ำดื่มให้เร็วและมีประสิทธิภาพ เริ่มตั้งแต่ขั้นตอนการหยอดน้ำยา ขั้นตอนล้างถังน้ำดื่ม ขั้นตอนการบรรจุน้ำดื่ม ขั้นตอนการติดแค็ปซีน ขั้นตอนในการดำเนินศึกษาประกอบด้วย (1) การศึกษาปัญหาเบื้องต้นของโรงงาน (2) วิเคราะห์หาเหตุของปัญหาเบื้องต้น (3) กำหนดแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาและปรับปรุง (4) ทดลองเปรียบเทียบผลการดำเนินงาน ก่อนและหลังปรับปรุง (5) สรุปผล จากข้อมูลดังกล่าวคณะผู้ศึกษาได้สร้างเครื่องมือใช้ปรับปรุงคือ เทคนิค ECRS คู่มือปฏิบัติงาน (Work Instruction: WI) การบันทึกเวลาที่ใช้ของกระบวนการผลิตในแต่ละขั้นตอน การบันทึกระยะทางและเวลาการไหลของแต่ละขั้นตอนในกระบวนการผลิต และการคำนวณหาเวลามาตรฐาน
ผลที่ได้จากการทำโครงงานศึกษาเรื่อง การศึกษาปรับปรุงวิธีการทำงานเพื่อลดเวลาในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตน้ำดื่ม พบว่า หลังจากปรับปรุงพื้นที่วางถังที่รับจากลูกค้า,กรรมวิธีการหยอดน้ำยาล้างถัง,ขั้นตอนการล้างถังน้ำดื่ม,ขั้นตอนการบรรจุน้ำดื่ม และขั้นตอนติดแค็ปซีนทำให้เวลาการทำงานได้ผลทดลองดังนี้ (1) ขั้นตอนการหยอดน้ำยาเดิมใช้เวลา 15 นาที 39 วินาที หลังปรับปรุงใช้เวลา 2 นาที 13 วินาที เวลาลดลง 13 นาที 26 วินาที คิดเป็นร้อยละ 86.1% ระยะทางเดิม 35.4 เมตร หลังปรับปรุงมีระยะทาง 4.2 เมตร ระยะทางลดลง 31.4 เมตร คิดเป็น 88.2% (2) ขั้นตอนการล้างถังเดิมใช้เวลา 1 นาที 19 วินาที หลังปรับปรุงใช้เวลา 51 วินาที 0.68 นาที คิดเป็นร้อยละ 35.4% ระยะทางเดิม 11.3 เมตร หลังปรับปรุงมีระยะทาง 5.3 เมตร ระยะทางลดลง 6 เมตร คิดเป็นร้อยละ 53.09% (3) ขั้นตอนการบรรจุถังน้ำดื่มเดิมใช้เวลา 3 นาที 40 วินาที หลังปรับปรุงใช้เวลา 1 นาที 3 วินาที เวลาลดลง 2 นาที 37 วินาที คิดเป็นร้อยละ 69.7% ระยะทางเดิม 61 เมตร หลังปรับปรุงมีระยะทาง 13 เมตร ระยะทางลดลง 48 เมตร คิดเป็น 78.6% (4) ขั้นตอนการติดแค็ปซีลเดิมใช้เวลา 35 วินาที หลังปรับปรุงใช้เวลา 19 วินาที เวลาลดลง 16 วินาที คิดเป็นร้อยละ 45.7% ระยะทางเท่าเดิม
