- เป็นผู้แทนหลักของไทยเข้าร่วมประชุมรัฐมนตรีอาเซียนด้านพลังงาน
- จัดทำความร่วมมือในภูมิภาคด้านโครงการเชื่อมโยงท่อส่งก๊าซธรรมชาติ และโครงการเครือข่ายระบบสายส่งไฟฟ้าของอาเซียน
- การสร้างแหล่งพลังงานทดแทน อาทิ ไบโอดีเซล และพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่จำเป็นสำหรับแหล่งพลังงานดังกล่าว
- พัฒนาความร่วมมือด้านการทำเหมืองแร่
