นอกเหนือจากความสำเร็จทางด้านธุรกิจมอเตอร์ไฟฟ้า วีลเลอร์ยังได้เป็นคณะกรรมการควบคุมระบบไฟฟ้าของเมืองนิวยอร์ค ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2431- พ.ศ. 2438 และแนวความคิดของเขาถูกนำมาใช้ในรูปแบบของ “จรรยาบรรณของวิศวกรไฟฟ้า” ในปี พ.ศ.2455 ด้วย ชอยเลอร์ วีลเลอร์ เสียชีวิตในปี พ.ศ.2466 ด้วยอายุ 63ปี
