1.  ถ้าเป็นกริยาสำคัญในประโยค  มีความหมายว่า  เป็น  อยู่  คือ
     - He is a doctor.
     - They are here.
     - She is John’s mother.
2. ใช้กับ Nouns และ Pronouns เช่น
     - Jack and Jill are cousins.
     - That puppy is Mam’s.
     - They are Thai boxers.
3. ใช้กับ Adjectives และ Adverbs เช่น
     - My uncle is a kind man.
     - People in the hall are friendly.
     - The tortoise is walking slowly.
4. ใช้กับ Prepositions เช่น
     - The red bag is on the floor.
     - The patients are in the hospital.
     - The cat is under the tree.
5. ใช้กับประโยค Continuous Tense เช่น
     - They are riding their bicycles.
     - Teacher is writhing on the board.
     - She is playing basketball.
