การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง (Experimental Research) โดยบูรณาการการเก็บข้อมูลทั้งในเชิงปริมาณ (Quatitation) และเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitation) มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิผลของศิลปะบำบัดเพื่อลดระดับความซึมเศร้าสำหรับเด็กหญิงในสถานสงเคราะห์เด็กหญิง บ้านราชวิถี กรุงเทพมหานคร คัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) จำนวน 37 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบคัดกรองภาวะซึมเศร้าในเด็ก Children’s Depression Inventory (CDI) ของกรมสุขภาพจิต และแบบสังเกตการทำกิจกรรมศิลปะบำบัด ซึ่งผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้นเอง สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ จำนวน ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และ ค่า paired
