กรมการขนส่งทางบก เตรียมปฎิรูประบบการทำใบอนุญาตขับขี่รถยนต์และรถจักรยานยนต์ในปี 2560-2561 ให้มีความยากมากขึ้น หวังยกระดับมาตรฐานผู้ขับขี่เทียบเท่าต่างประเทศ และลดผู้เสียชีวิตจากอุบัติเหตุทางถนนซึ่งไทยมีสูงเป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลก
