พระธรรมปิฎกได้แสดงทัศนะเกี่ยวกับประชาธิปไตย ในหลายวาระ หลายโอกาส และหลายเรื่องที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกัน ผู้เขียนเห็นว่า ถ้อยคำที่พระธรรมปิฎกได้แสดงไว้นั้น เป็นถ้อยคำ ที่มีความลึกซึ้ง เป็นเหตุ เป็นผลที่อธิบายให้เชื่อมโยงกันได้อย่างน่ารับฟังยิ่ง ควรค่าแก่การนำมา เผยแพร่ เพราะเป็นเรื่องที่เนื่องด้วยประชาธิปไตยทั้งสิ้น ดังตัวอย่างต่อไปนี้
