การศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้ทาการศึกษาในพื้นที่ป่าดิบแล้งภายหลังการปลูกทดแทนตามเงื่อนไขสัมปทาน ณ สถานีวิจัยและฝึกอบรมวนเกษตร จังหวัดตราด ในช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2556 - 2557 วางแปลงขนาด 120x120 เมตร จานวน 2 แปลง (แปลง 1 และแปลง 2) ที่มีระดับความลาดชันของพื้นที่ต่างกัน ในแต่ละแปลงจะแบ่งเป็นแปลงย่อย 10x10 เมตร และในแปลงขนาด 10x10 เมตร ทาการวางแปลง 1x1 เมตร จานวน 1 แปลง โดยมีการสารวจและเก็บบันทึกข้อมูลแม่ไม้ (Tree) ขนาดแปลง 10x10 เมตร ซึ่งมีความสูงตั้งแต่ 1.30 เมตร มีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางเพียงอกตั้งแต่ 4.5 เซนติเมตร ไม้รุ่นขนาดแปลง 4x4 เมตร ซึ่งมีความสูงตั้งแต่ 1.30 เมตร มีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง
