1. ความเป็นมา
ศิลปะเพื่อมวลมนุษย์ (Art for All) เกิดจากแนวคิดของ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ชาญณรงค์ พรรุ่งโรจน์ ในการอาศัยศิลปะเป็นเครื่องมือกล่อมเกลาจิตใจ ปลูกฝัง และส่งเสริมคุณธรรม ผ่านกระบวนการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันอย่างเอื้ออาทร ทำให้เกิด “สภาวะสะเทือนใจ” โดยการรวมบุคคลที่มีประสบการณ์ทางร่างกาย
ที่แตกต่างกัน มาเป็นกระจกเงาสะท้อนความคิดและจิตใจ สร้างความหลากหลายให้เป็นความงดงาม โดยการให้คนตาบอดทำหน้าที่เป็นปาก-หู คนหูหนวกช่วยทำหน้าที่เป็นตา คนพิการด้านร่างกายเป็นปัญญา คนปัญญาอ่อนที่มีร่างกายสมบูรณ์ เป็นเสมือนแขน-ขา ให้กับเพื่อนสมาชิกในกลุ่ม ผ่านการประสานของคนไม่พิการ
นับตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2540 ได้มีการศึกษาวิจัยและรวบรวมข้อมูลจนสามารถพิสูจน์ให้เห็นว่า ทฤษฎีหลักการ และวิธีการในการพัฒนาผู้ด้อยโอกาส/ผู้พิการ ในลักษณะการรวมองค์ประกอบความด้อยหรือพิการเพื่อให้เกิดองค์รวมแห่งคุณภาพและผลผลิต ด้วยการจัดสภาพและหลักสูตรพิเศษได้ช่วยให้ผู้ด้อยโอกาส/ผู้พิการได้ก้าวข้ามขีดจำกัดของตนเอง เกิดการประสานศักยภาพที่หลากหลายในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ อันส่งผลให้ “ห้าคนรวมเป็นหนึ่งอัจฉริยะ”
การเรียนรู้ร่วมกันในลักษณะ “ร่วมเรียน” เป็นกลวิธีที่จะช่วยดึงความสามารถของมนุษย์ และเอื้อให้เกิดการมีส่วนร่วม อันเป็นการดำเนินการภายใต้ปรัชญา “ก้าวข้ามขีดจำกัด” หรืออีกนัยหนึ่งคือ “การเติมเต็มซึ่งกันและกัน” โดยการพลิกภาระของสังคม ให้เป็นพลังของแผ่นดิน ซึ่งโครงการ Art for All ได้พิสูจน์มาแล้วว่าสามารถดำเนินการได้จริง
ในการพัฒนาประเทศ ประชากรในประเทศถือเป็นตัวบ่งชี้ประการสำคัญหนึ่งที่จะแสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพในการแข่งขันของประเทศนั้นๆ ประเทศไทยจึงจำเป็นต้องมีการพัฒนาคนอย่างเป็นระบบและเท่าเทียมกัน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งกลุ่มผู้ด้อยโอกาส/ผู้พิการซึ่งเป็นถือเป็นกลุ่มที่หากได้รับการพัฒนาอย่างถูกต้องก็จะสามารถพึ่งพาตนเองได้ตามศักยภาพที่มีอยู่ และอยู่ในสังคมได้อย่างมีความสุข ดังนั้น ทฤษฎีการเติมเต็มในส่วนที่ขาด โดยการใช้ศิลปะเป็นเครื่องมือพัฒนาศักยภาพให้เกิดคุณภาพทางความคิด และสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ตามเทคนิควิธีการ Art for All จึงเป็นอีกวิถีหนึ่งในการพัฒนาคนกลุ่มผู้ด้อยโอกาส/

ศิลปะเพื่อมวลมนุษย์ หรือ “Art for All” หมายถึง ศาสตร์แห่งชีวิตในการใช้มนุษย์ต่างกระจกสะท้อนความคิดและจิตวิญญาณ ผ่านกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ทางศิลปะ เพื่อการพัฒนาในลักษณะ

“ก้าวข้ามขีดจำกัด” หมายถึง การก้าวข้ามขีดจำกัดทางร่างกาย จิตใจ สติปัญญา มุ่งไปสู่การพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านความคิดสร้างสรรค์ โดยการเรียนรู้และแก้ไขปัญหาร่วมกันอย่างเอื้ออาทร และมีคุณธรรมเพื่อสังคมในอนาคต
