ในปี 2013 กรุงเทพมหานครได้รับเลือกจากองค์การยูเนสโก้ให้เป็นเมืองหลวงหนังสือโลก ทางรายการจึงอยากกระตุ้นให้คนไทยอ่านหนังสือกันมากขึ้น โดยการไปพูดคุยกับนักอ่าน นักเขียน และแนะนำหนังสือดีๆ
