ปัจจุบันนี้โลกของเราก้าวหน้าไปอย่างรวดเร็วเพราะมีเทคโนโลยีต่างๆเข้ามาปัจจัยที่มีผลต่ออิทธิพลของความต้องการพื้นฐานของมนุษย์ต่อการตั้งเป้าหมายในชีวิต
ของเราก็เพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆตามกาลเวลา จากอดีตที่ปัจจัยพื้นฐานของเรามีแค่ 4อย่าง คือ อาหาร ยา ที่อยู่อาศัย เครื่องนุ่งห่ม แต่พอกาลเวลาเริ่มผ่านไปเทคโนโลยีก็เริ่มเข้ามาจากปัจจัยพื้นฐานที่มีแค่4อย่างก็เริ่มเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆเพราะมนุษย์ไม่หยุดคิดค้นสิ่งต่างๆ และความต้องการของมนุษย์ก็ไม่สิ้นสุด มนุษย์เรามีการตั้งเป้าหมายในชีวิตเพื่อที่จะได้มุ่งไปหาความสำเร็จที่หลายๆคนต้องการ ซึ่งงานวิจัยครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นที่จะหาอิทธิพลของความต้องการพื้นฐานของมนุษย์ต่อการตั้งเป้าหมายในชีวิตและการเดินทางไปสู่ความสำเร็จ
