โครงการนี้ผู้จัดทำโครงการพิเศษได้มีเล็งเห็นปัญหาในยุคสมัยปัจจุบันนี้ว่า ขนมไทยพื้นบ้านและขนมชาววังเริ่มจางหายไป ซึ่งจะมีแต่เฉพาะประเพณีเท่านั้น ซึ่งเด็กไทยสมัยปัจจุบันเริ่มไม่ค่อยรู้จักขนมไทยพื้นบ้านและขนมชาววัง จึงต้องการให้เด็กไทยและคนยุคปัจจุบันหันมาให้ความสนใจขนมไทยพื้นบ้านและขนมชาววังมากชึ้น เพื่อส่งเสริมให้ขนมไทยเริ่มเป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้นจึงได้จัดทำโครงการพิเศษ “ขนมไทยพื้นบ้านและขนมชาววัง”
ขั้นตอนในการจัดทำโครงการ ขนมไทยพื้นบ้านและขนมชาววัง “มรดกแห่งภูมิปัญญาจากก้นครัวและต้นเครื่องในวัง ผู้จัดทำโครงการได้แบ่งออกเป็น 4 ขั้นตอนดังต่อไปนี้คือ 1) ศึกษาข้อมูลความรู้ของขนมไทยพื้นบ้าน ศึกษาความรู้ของขนมชาววัง ศึกษาการจัดแสดงงานขนมไทย 2) ขั้นตอนที่ 2 ออกแบบนิทรรศการและการจัดแสดง นำผลมาวิเคราะห์กรอบแนวคิดในการจัดงานมาสร้างรูปแบบและรายละเอียดการจัดงาน Concept ซึ่งจะได้กิจกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นภายในงาน ขั้นตอนที่ 3) ทำต้นแบบงานนิทรรศการและการจัดแสดง เมื่อได้แนวคิดต่างๆในการออกแบบแล้วก็ทำการสร้างแบบจำลองของงานขึ้นมาในรูปแบบ 3D และ Model เพื่อที่จะสามารถเห็นภาพรวมของงานได้อย่างชัดเจน 4) ประเมินความคิดเห็นของผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านการออกแบบและการจัด Display จำนวน 3 คนจากการประเมินความคิดเห็นจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการออกแบบการจัด Display
