ในช่วงปลายเดือนสิงหาคมถึงกลางเดือนกันยายน ณ ผืนป่าสมบูรณ์ปลายล่างสุดของภาคอีสานในเขตอำเภอน้ำยืน จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้รอยต่อเขตแดน 3 ประเทศ คือ ไทย ลาวและกัมพูชาหรือที่รู้จักกันดีในนาม “สามเหลี่ยมมรกต” จะปรากฏเหตุการณ์ที่แสนมหัศจรรย์เมื่อบรรดากุ้งน้ำจืดนับล้านๆตัวต่างพากันพร้อมใจเดินพาเหรดผ่าน ลานหินเลียบแก่งน้ำมุ่งหน้าสู่ยอดเขาสูงแห่งสามเหลี่ยมมรกต ปรากฏการณ์ “กุ้งเดินขบวน” เกิดขึ้นที่แก่งลำดวน บริเวณสถานีพัฒนาและส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์สัตว์ป่าอุบลราชธานี อำเภอน้ำยืน โดยจะเดินขบวนในช่วงกลางคืนหลังฝนตกหนักหรือสายน้ำในแก่งลำดวนมีความเชี่ยวกราก นับเป็นความมหัศจรรย์ของธรรมชาติที่น่าศึกษาเป็นอย่างยิ่ง

หมายเหตุ - เนื่องจากในช่วงที่มีกุ้งเดินขบวนอยู่ระหว่างเดือนสิงหาคม-กันยายน มีฝนตกชุก อาจทำให้เกิดภาวะน้ำป่าไหลหลากได้ จึงควรระมัดระวังอันตรายและรับฟังการเตือนภัยจากสถานีพัฒนาและส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์สัตว์ป่าอุบลราชธานี ทั้งนี้ ทางสถานีฯ ได้ ติดตั้งหอกระจายข่าว บริเวณสถานีฯ และแก่งลำดวน สามารถแจ้งเตือนนักท่องเที่ยวได้ทันทีที่ได้รับรายงานสภาวะน้ำจากจุดเฝ้าระวัง และจัดเจ้าหน้าที่พิทักษ์ป่า เผ้าระวังสภาวะน้ำเพิ่มระดับสูงขึ้น โดยมีจุดเฝ้าระวังอยู่เหนือปรากฏการณ์กุ้งเดินขบวนขึ้นไป 7 กิโลเมตร สามารถแจ้งเตือนได้ล่วงหน้า 1 ชั่วโมง
