วัดศาลาแดง ได้รับการปรับปรุงและพัฒนาจากเจ้าอาวาสและชาวบ้านมาแต่ครั้งอดีต เรื่อยมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน ถือได้ว่าเป็นศูนย์รวมทางจิตใจ เป็นสถานที่ประกบพิธีกรรม และเป็นสถานที่จัด กิจกรรมของชุมชนในพื้นที่และละแวกใกล้เคียงมาตลอด เพราะเป็นวัดที่อยู่ในชุมชน มีความสมบูรณ์พร้อมทั้งเรื่องอาหาร ที่อยู่อาศัย และการเดินทาง จึงทำให้มีพระภิกษุและสามาเณรอยู่จำพรรษาปีละกว่า ๑๐๐ รูป มีการจัดให้มีการศึกษาของพระภิกษุและสามเณร ทั้งแผนกนักธรรมและแผนกบาลี มีการตั้งศูนย์บริการการศึกษาตามอัธยาศัยเขตบางแค และจัดตั้งสูนย์พัฒนาเด็กก่อนเกณฑ์วัด
