คติที่มาเกี่ยวกับวันลอยกระทงมีอยู่หลายตำนาน ดังนี้
1. การลอยกระทง เพื่อขอขมาแก่พระแม่คงคา

ประวัติการลอยกระทงในเมืองไทย
