วัดสวนแก้ว ตั้งอยู่ตำบลบางเลน แต่เดิมวัดนี้ชื่อ "วัดแก้ว" เป็นวัดร้างมา 80 ปี จนกระทั่งหลวงพ่อเทียน จิตฺตสุโภ และพระภิกษุอีก 3-4 รูป ได้เข้ามาพำนักแต่พื้นที่ของวัดเต็มไปด้วยสวนต่างๆ หลวงพ่อไม่สามารถจะบูรณะได้ เพราะขาดบุคลากร ที่จะช่วย พัฒนา

เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2521 พระพยอม กัลยาโณ และเพื่อนพระภิกษุอีก 2 รูปได้เดินทางมาจากวัดสวนโมกขพลาราม เพื่อขอทำโครงการบวชเณร ภาคฤดูร้อนที่วัดแห่งนี้

หลังจากนั้นในปี พ.ศ. 2522 หลวงพ่อได้มอบหมายให้พระพยอมและเพื่อนพระภิกษุ เป็นผู้ดูแลรักษาวัดเนื่องด้วยหลวงพ่อ เทียนนั้นดำริจะเดินทางกลับจังหวัดเลย

ต่อมาภายหลังจึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่อวัดเป็น "วัดสวนแก้ว" และได้จัดตั้ง "มูลนิธิสวนแก้ว" ขึ้น โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ หลัก 3 ประการ คือ
- เพื่อเผยแผ่ศีลธรรมในศาสนา
- เพื่อสนับสนุนให้กำลังใจแก่ผู้กระทำความดี
- และเพื่อส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้คนดีมีสัมมาชีพ

วัดนี้มีอาณาบริเวณกว้างขวางมาก ตลอดทางเดินเข้าสู่ตัววัดมีไม้ใหญ่เขียวครึ้ม ติดป้ายคำขวัญเป็นข้อความเตือนสติพร้อมทั้งยังมีภาพ วาดที่สวยงามอยู่ภายในวัด ด้านหน้าวัดมีร้านขายของที่ระลึก และร้านค้าเล็กๆมากมาย เมื่อเดินเข้าไปด้านในวัด จะพบลานโค้งและพระอุโบสถธรรมชาติ ซึ่งแต่ละวัน จะมีพุทธศาสนิกชนมาฟังเทศน์ฟังธรรมกันเป็นจำนวนมาก
