ประวัติความเป็นมา
โรงเรียนเทศบาล 2 วัดพระทรง (สุทธิวิเทศอุปถัมภ์) เริ่มก่อตั้งเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2465 เป็นโรงเรียนประชาบาล ลักษณะเป็นอาคารเรียนชั่วคราว ในปี พ.ศ.2490 ทางราชการได้สร้างอาคารเรียนถาวรขึ้น 1 หลัง แต่ยังไม่สำเร็จ ขุนวิเทศดรุณการ ได้ของบประมาณก่อสร้างจนเสร็จเรียบร้อย ในปีพ.ศ.2506 เทศบาลได้รับโอนจากโรงเรียนประชาบาลมาขึ้นกับเทศบาล โดยมรหลวงพ่อสุทธิ และ ขุนวิเทศดรุณการ ได้มีส่วนให้ความช่วยเหลือ จึงได้ใช้ชื่อโรงเรียนแห่งนี้ว่า โรงเรียนเทศบาล 2 วัดพระทรง (สุทธิวิเทศอุปถัมภ์)มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
