ย้อนไปเมื่อประมาณ 20 ปีก่อน ตอนนั้นผมอยู่ประมาณประถม 4 และเป็นเหมือนเด็กบ้านนอกที่อยู่ทางใต้ ได้มีโอกาสสอบเข้าโรงเรียนประจำชื่อดังในจังหวัดนครปฐม ซึ่งในสมัยนั้นการเดินทางยังไม่สะดวกเหมือนสมัยนี้ แต่พ่อผมซึ่งมีอาชีพรับราชการเงินเดือนไม่กี่พันบาทนั้น หลังเลิกงานทุกวันศุกร์ ท่านจะจัดเสื้อผ้าและเดินทางโดยรถไฟชั้น 3 จากชุมพร มาถึงสถานีนครปฐม และต่อรถเมล์แดงอีก 1 ต่อ มายังโรงเรียนที่ผมเรียนอยู่

คิดแล้วผมยังจำติดตาอยู่ตลอดภาพของพ่อที่ยิ้ม และมองมาทางผมตรงป้อมยามทางเข้าโรงเรียนตอนเช้าของวันเสาร์ พ่อมาเพียงเพื่อดูว่าลูกสบายดีมั้ย เป็นอะไรหรือเปล่า พ่ออยู่กับผมเสาร์และกลับในวันอาทิตย์ตอนเย็น ซึ่งการเดินทางกลับถึงชุมพรก็ดึกมากแล้ว และวันจันทร์ พ่อก็ต้องทำงานต่อ ซึ่งพ่อได้ทำแบบนี้ประมาณ 2 ปีกว่า จนผมโตพอจะดูแลตัวเองเบื้องต้นได้แล้ว

ตอนนี้ผมมีลูกแล้ว และเริ่มเข้าใจความรู้สึกของพ่อ
