การศึกษาค้นคว้าอิสระครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมาย เพื่อพัฒนาแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้แผนผังความคิด เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์ทวีปเอเชีย ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 เพื่อหาดัชนีประสิทธิผลของแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้แผนผังความคิด เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์ทวีปเอเชีย ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 และเพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนที่เรียนด้วยแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้แผนผังความคิด เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์ทวีปเอเชีย ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1/2 โรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ฯ ร้อยเอ็ด ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2557 จำนวน 21 คน ซึ่งได้มาโดยการสุ่มอย่างง่ายโดยวิธีการจับสลาก เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษาค้นคว้าครั้งนี้เป็นเครื่องมือที่ผู้ศึกษาสร้างขึ้น ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์ทวีปเอเชีย จำนวน 9 แผน รวมเวลา 12 ชั่วโมง 2) แบบทดสอบวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน จำนวน 40 ข้อ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน
