ประวัติความเป็นมา
กลุ่มอาชีพเย็บหมวกใบลานใบตาล บ้านปากร้องห้วยจี้ หมู่ที่ ๒ ตำบลตากออก อำเภอบ้านตาก จังหวัดตาก ด้วยสภาพพื้นที่ของบ้านปากร้องห้วยจี้ หมู่ที่ ๒ ตำบลตากออก มีพื้นที่ส่วนใหญ่ในการทำการเกษตร ประกอบกับมีต้นลานและต้นตาลเป็นจำนวนมาก ชาวบ้านแต่เดิมได้ตัดใบลานส่งขายแก่พ่อค้าที่จังหวัดลำพูนซึ่งจะนำไปสานหมวกขาย นายตา พรมวงษ์ และ นางลำพวน สุกสาตร์ เห็นว่าชาวบ้านสามารถนำมาจักสานและเย็บได้เอง จึงได้ริเริ่มให้ชาวบ้านปากร้องห้วยจี้ หมู่ที่ ๒ นำใบลานมากรีดเป็นเส็นเล็กๆแล้วถักเปีย นำมาเย็บเป็นหมวกเพื่อใส่เองเวลาไปทำนา และ ขายในหมู่บ้าน/ท้องถิ่น ต่อมาจึงได้มีการรวมกลุ่มกันเพื่อจัดทำหมวกจากใบลาน และ ใบตาล สร้างรายได้ให้แก่คนในชุมชน

ปัจจุบันได้มีการพัฒนารูปแบบของหมวกต่างๆที่ทันสมัย มีหลากหลายรูปแบบมากขึ้น เช่น หมวกคาวบอย หมวกปีกกว้าง ตอบสนองความต้องการของลูกค้าเพิ่มมากขึ้น สร้างรายได้ให้กับชาวบ้าน โดยนำสิ่งที่ผูกพันกับวิถีชีวิตชาวบ้าน ใช้ภูมิปัญญาสร้างสรรค์เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ชุมชน จนได้รับความสำเร็จได้รับการคัดสรรในระดับ 4 ดาว ในปี พ.ศ 2553

ขั้นตอนการผลิต
1.นำใบลานมาตากแห้ง แล้วกรีดเป็นเส้น

2.นำมาถักเปียแล้วม้วนไว้เป็นก้อน

3.เย็บใบลานที่ถักเปียแล้วเป็นรูปหมวก เริ่มจากส่วนหัวหมวก นำเข้าแบบพิมพ์หัวหมวกเพื่อให้ได้ขนาดที่ต้องการ

4.เย็บใบหมวกตามแบบที่ต้องการ ตกแต่งด้วยดอกไม้แล้วตรวจสอบคุณภาพ
