การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุระสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของ Conjugated linoleic acid ในอาหารต่อสมรรถนภาพการเจริญเติบโต คุณภาพซาก และการสะสมไขมันในไก่แบบปล่อยเลี้ยงบนกรงยกพื้นในไก่พื้นเมือง ใช้ไก่พื้นเมือง จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 240 ตัว วางแผนงานทดลองแบบ Completely Randomized Design (CRD) โดยใช้ไก่พื้นเมืองอายุเริ่มต้นที่ 1 วัน กกเป็นเวลา 1 สัปดาห์ จากนั้นนำเข้ากรงขังรวม กรงละ 10 ตัวต่อทรีทเมนต์ ๆ ละ 4 ซ้ำ ระยะการทดลองทั้งสิ้น 90 วัน ซึ่งในการทดลองใช้อาหารที่เสริม CLA ที่ 2 ระดับ คือ กลุ่มควบคุม (ไม่ได้เสริม CLA) และกลุ่มเสริม CLA ร้อยละ 1.0 การทดลองผลของการเสริม CLA ต่ออัตราการเจริญเติบโตของไก่พื้นเมือง พบว่า การกินได้ของวัตถุแห้ง อัตราการเจริญเติบโต และประสิทธิภาพการใช้อาหาร ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางสถิติ (P>0.05) จากนี้ผลของการเสริม CLA ต่อเปอร์เซ็นต์ชิ้นส่วนซากในไก่พื้นเมือง จากการทดลองทำการเสริม CLA ที่ระดับร้อยละ1.0% ในอาหารไก่พื้นเมืองร่วมกับการเลี้ยงแบบยกพื้นกรง พบว่า เปอร์เซ็นต์ซาก เนื้ออก เนื้อขา เนื้อสะโพก และเนื้อน่อง ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางสถิติ (P>0.05) และผลของการเสริม CLA ต่อเปอร์เซ็นต์เครื่องในของไก่พื้นเมือง จากการทดลองทำการเสริม CLA ที่ระดับร้อยละ1.0% ในอาหารไก่พื้นเมืองร่วมกับการเลี้ยงแบบยกพื้นกรง พบว่า ตับ หัวใจ ม้าม กึ๋น และไขมันช่องท้อง ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางสถิติ (P>0.05)
