โครงงาน เรื่อง น้ำหมักชีวภาพจากเปลือกแตงโม มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อต้องการศึกษาอัตราการเกิดปฏิกิริยาเคมีของสารโดยใช้การหมักน้ำชีวภาพจากเปลือกแตงโม เนื่องจากเปลือกแตงโมเป็นส่วนที่เหลือทิ้งจากการรับประทาน จึงได้เล็งเห็นว่าเปลือกแตงโมจะสามารถนำมาทำอย่างอื่นที่เป็นประโยชน์ได้ ซึ่งนอกจากได้ศึกษาในรายวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์แล้ว ยังได้ประโยชน์ในการนำน้ำหมักชีวภาพที่ได้ไปต่อยอดในการใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ เช่น นำไปล้างห้องน้ำ รดต้นไม้ หรือการนำไปทำเป็นปุ๋ย ซึ่งล้วนแล้วแต่เป็นการประหยัด ลดเศษอาหาร และไม่ก่อให้เกิดสารเคมีที่เป็นอันตรายต่อสุขภาพ จากการทดลองและการติดตามบันทึกผลคณะผู้จัดทำจึงสรุปได้ว่าได้มีการเกิดปฏิกิริยาเคมีโดยสังเกตได้จากการที่เปลือกแตงโมที่ยังคงเป็นกากได้ค่อยๆย่อยสลายไป ได้เป็นน้ำหมักชีวภาพที่สามารถนำไปใช้งานได้
