นายขนมต้มจึงเปรียบเสมือนผู้เป็นบิดาของวิชามวยไทยเพราะทำให้คนไทยมีชื่อเสียงเกี่ยวกับวิชามวยไทยเป็นอันมากในสมัยนั้น และชื่อเสียงก็ได้เลื่องลือมาจนถึงกับปัจจุบันนี้
