เจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองสมุทรสาคร ศูนย์รวมจิตใจที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของชาวจังหวัดสมุทรสาคร อาจกล่าวได้ว่าชาวสมุทรสาครทุกคนต้องมากราบไหว้สักการะเจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองสมุทรสาคร ทั้งชาวไทย ชาวจีน ผู้คนจากหลากหลายอาชีพ โดยเฉพาะชาวประมงก่อนออกเรือหาปลาทุกครั้งมักขอพรบนบานให้มีความสุขความเจริญ และเดินทางปลอดภัยทุกครั้งไป ด้วยความเคารพและความศรัทธาอันใหญ่ยิ่ง จึงได้เกิดงาน “ประเพณีแห่เจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองสมุทรสาคร” เป็นประจำทุกปี เริ่มตั้งแต่ปี 2508 เป็นต้นมา ในปีนี้พิธีแห่เจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองฯ จะมีขึ้นในวันที่ 5 มิถุนายน 2557 เวลา 9.00 น. ถือเป็นไฮไลท์สำคัญของงาน โดยจะอัญเชิญเจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองฯ ประทับเกี้ยว พร้อมอัญเชิญประทับในเรือประมงแห่ไปทางน้ำ ข้ามแม่น้ำท่าจีนและแห่ไปตามถนนสายต่างๆ ทั้งฝั่งท่าฉลอมและมหาชัย รวมทั้งมีการตั้งโต๊ะบูชาเพื่อทำพิธีเปลี่ยนธูปตลอดเส้นทางขบวนแห่เจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองฯ ให้ชาวบ้านและนักท่องเที่ยวได้ร่วมกันสักการะเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล ขบวนแห่ทางบกประกอบไปด้วยหน่วยงานต่างๆ ในจังหวัดสมุทรสาครจำนวนมาก โดยในปีนี้แต่ละหน่วยงานจะตกแต่งขบวนเข้าร่วม “ประกวดขบวนแห่” ที่จัดขึ้นเป็นพิเศษ ซึ่งจะสร้างสีสันให้เป็นขบวนแห่ที่ยิ่งใหญ่ทั้งทางน้ำและทางบก ถือเป็นหนึ่งเดียวในประเทศไทย สำหรับวันเกิดของเจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองฯ ปีนี้ตรงกับวันอาทิตย์ที่ 8 มิถุนายน 2557 ในเวลา 10.00 น. จะมีพิธีไหว้วันเกิดเจ้าพ่อหลักเมืองฯ พร้อมการผัดหมี่สิริมหามงคลแจกฟรีให้กับผู้ร่วมงานทุกท่านด้วย ภายในงานยังมีการแสดงมหรสพต่างๆ อาทิ ภาพยนตร์ ดนตรี งิ้ว ลิเก ตลกและนักร้องลูกทุ่งชื่อดังได้ชมฟรีตลอดการจัดงานทั้ง 5 วัน
