“SHREK” เป็นภาษาไทยโดยทดลองแปลและศึกษาปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในการแปลบทภาพยนตร์และวิธีการแก้ไขปัญหาที่ผู้วิจัยใช้ ผู้วิจัยแบ่งปัญหาที่พบออกเป็นสามประเด็น คือ 1.) ปัญหาด้านเทคนิค ได้แก่ ข้อจำกัดด้านความยาวตัวอักษร 2.) ปัญหาด้าน ภาษาและวัฒนธรรม ได้แก่ การแปลคำสรรพนาม การแปลคำศัพท์สำนวน และการแปลชื่อ และ 3.) ปัญหาภูมิหลังด้านภาษาของผู้แปลเป็นปัญหาที่ทำให้เกิดความผิดพลาดขึ้นได้แก่ความ ผิดพลาดด้านคำศัพท์ และความผิดพลาดด้านไวยากรณ์ ผู้วิจัยแก้ปัญหาเหล่านี้ด้วย วิธีที่แตกต่างกันตามลักษณะของปัญหา ผู้วิจัยแก้ปัญหาด้านเทคนิคโดยใช้วิธีการละ การใช้คำ ที่มีตัวอักษรน้อย และการแปลแบบเอาความในการแก้ปัญหา ผู้วิจัยศึกษาปัญหาด้านภาษาและวัฒนธรรม ใช้วิธีการปรับภาษาและวัฒนธรรมให้เข้ากับภาษาในฉบับแปลมากที่สุด และผู้วิจัยแก้ปัญหาภูมิหลังด้าน ภาษาของผู้แปล ใช้วิธีการปรับปรุงความรู้ความสามารถของผู้แปลเอง ด้วยการอ่านและการฝึกฝนทักษะการแปลเพิ่มเติมเพื่อเสริมประสบการณ์ ความรู้ในด้านการแปลบทภาพยนตร์
