3. Results and discussion
Different assays were performed in order to evaluate the total
phenolic content (TPC), scavenging capacity (DPPH• and ORAC) and
iron(II) chelating ability through ICA assay. These methodologies
were analyzed in the ethanol/water extract and in the aqueous suspension
obtained according to the extraction scheme depicted in
Fig. 1.
