อภิญญา 5 ข้อแรกเป็นของสาธารณะ (โลกียญาณ) ข้อ 6 มีเฉพาะในพระอริยบุคคล

ในภาคโลกียะ จะใช้สมาธิล้วนๆ(สมถกรรมฐาน)

ในภาคโลกุตระ ใช้สมาธิและวิปัสสนาร่วมกัน

- ความแตกฉานใน อรรถ
- ความแตกฉานใน ธรรม
- ความแตกฉานใน ภาษา
- ความแตกฉานใน ปฏิภาณ
