ค่อนข้างน่าเป็นห่วง เด็กไทยยังไม่พร้อมที่จะเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน ไม่พร้อมตั้งแต่ในแง่ของโครงสร้างทางความคิด ไปจนถึงการเตรียมความพร้อมของหน่วยงานต่างๆ ทั้งระบบ ซึ่งกว่าจะขยับตัวก็ช้ามากในการพัฒนาเด็กและการเตรียมความพร้อมก้าวเข้าสู่อาเซียน ทั้งๆ ที่ประเทศไทยเป็นศูนย์กลางของประเทศอาเซียน แต่ความพร้อมของประเทศในแง่มุมอื่นกลับจะมีการเน้นมานานกว่า เช่น ประชาคมเศรฐกิจ ประชาคมทางความมั่นคง แต่พอมิติทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรมมันเป็นจุดที่อ่อนแอ จากวันนี้อีกสองปีเท่านั้น หากเรามีการเตรียมความพร้อมที่ดี ไทยจะเป็นศูนย์กลางประตูสู่อาเซียนได้ แต่ ณ วันนี้เด็กยังไม่ได้รับการเตรียมความพร้อมที่ดีพอ เด็กไทยยังไม่ได้ก้าวสู่ความเป็นอินเตอร์เท่าที่ควร ยังไม่มีความทันสมัยในกลุ่มของอาเซียน นั่นเพราะเรายังรู้จักกันไม่ดีพอ
