การศึกษาความชุกชุมและความหลากหลายของสัตว์หน้าดินในบ่อเลี้ยงเชิงพาณิชย์ได้ดำเนินการเก็บรวบรวมตัวอย่างสัตว์หน้าดินทั้งหมด2แห่งคือบ่อเลี้ยงปลาดุกสมหมายฟาร์มและบ่อเลี้ยงปลาดุกไนส์ฟาร์มรวมทั้งหมด12บ่อ โดยเลือกบ่อสมหมาย 3 บ่อและบ่อเลี้ยงปลาดุกไนส์ฟาร์ม 9 บ่อ รวมไปถึงศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชนิดของสัตว์หน้าดินและดัชนีคุณภาพน้ำระหว่างเดือนกันยายน 2559 ถึง เดือนธันวาคม พ .ศ.2559 เก็บตัวอย่างเดือนละ 1 ครั้ง รวมทั้งหมด 4 ครั้ง ข้อมูลที่ได้น้ามาวิเคราะห์ และใช้โปรแกรมการวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติ SPSS

ผลการศึกษาครั้งนี้พบสัตว์หน้าดินได้แก่ หนอนริ้นแดง,ตัวอ่อนแมลงปอ,ไส้เดือนน้ำ,จิงโจ้น้ำและปลาดุกอุย สัตว์หน้าดินที่พบเป็นชนิดเด่นคือจิงโจ้น้ำ (Gerris sp.) และพบสัตว์หน้าดินที่เป็นตัวบ่งชี้ว่าน้ำมีคุณภาพที่ไม่ดีคือไส้เดือนน้ำ(Tubiflex tubiflex), ตัวอ่อนแมลงปอ (Zygonyx iris)และกับหนอนริ้นแดง (Chiromonus plumous) โดยภาพรวมสภาพบ่อนํ้าต้องเฝ้าระวัง เพราะมีแนวโน้มคุณภาพแหล่งนํ้าด้อยลง
