เดิมเป็นวัดเล็กๆ สองวัด คือ วัดกลางและวัดป่า เนื่องจากวัดกลางตั้งอยู่ริมฝั่งแม่น้ำโขง จึงถูกน้ำกัดเซาะตลิ่งพัง เข้า มาถึงวัด ชาวบ้านจึงย้ายมารวมวัดสองวัดเข้าเป็นวัดเดียวกันเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2466 เรียกชื่อว่า “วัดป่ากลาง” ต่อมาสมัยพระมหาเกียรติ วฑฒิสาโร ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น “วัดมัชฌิมาราม” พระประธานในอุโบสถเป็น พระพุทธ รูปปูนปั้นปางมารวิชัย ภายในบริเวณวัด มีอาคารส้วมโบราณ ซึ่งชาวบ้านได้อนุรักษ์ไว้เป็นอย่างดี
วัดมหาธาตุ
