นางอรรชกา สีบุญเรือง รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรม เปิดเผยว่า ที่ประชุมคณะรัฐมนตรี (ครม.) มีมติเห็นชอบในหลักการในการกำหนด 10 อุตสาหกรรมเพื่อเป็นกลไกหลักในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจเพื่ออนาคต ประกอบด้วย การต่อยอดในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเดิม 5 กลุ่ม คือ 1.ยานยนต์แห่งอนาคต 2.อิเล็กทรอนิกส์อัจฉริยะ 3.ท่องเที่ยวเชิงคุณภาพ 4.เกษตรเชิงประสิทธิภาพและเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ 5.อาหารแห่งอนาคต และเพิ่มเติมในอีก 5 กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมใหม่ คือ 1.หุ่นยนต์เพื่ออุตสาหกรรม 2.ขนส่งและการบิน 3.พลังงานและเคมีชีวภาพ 4.อุตสาหกรรมดิจิทัล 5.การแพทย์และสุขภาพ ทั้งนี้ เพื่อมุ่งหวังให้ทั้ง 10 กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นกลไกหลักในการช่วยขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจของประเทศให้มากขึ้น
