นิทรรศน์รัตนโกสินทร์ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางเรียนรู้ข้อมูล และแหล่งรวบรวมความรู้ทางประวัติศาสตร์ ศิลปะ และวัฒนธรรม ของยุคกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ ที่สมบูรณ์แบบที่สุดในประเทศไทย อีกทั้งยังเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแห่งใหม่บนถนนราชดำเนินอีกด้วย
