                 รูปพระพุทธชินราช   ซึ่งเป็นพระพุทธรูปที่มีลักษณะงดงามที่สุดของประเทศไทย   สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ
      พ.ศ. 1900   ปัจจุบันประดิษฐานอยู่   ณ   พระอุโบสถ์   วัดพระศรีรัตนมหาธาตุวรมหาวิหาร      
      ในเมืองพิษณุโลกเป็นพระพุทธรูปศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่บ้านคู่เมือง  จึงนำมาเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของจังหวัด

  ประวัติศาสตร์ของจังหวัดพิษณุโลก

            สมัยอยุธยา    เมืองพิษณุโลกทวีความสำคัญมากขึ้น    เพราะเป็นเมืองกึ่งกลางระหว่างกรุงศรีอยุธยาและอาณาจักรฝ่ายเหนือ
สมเด็จพระบรมไตรโลกนาถ   ทรงปฏิรูปการปกครองและได้เสด็จมาประทับที่เมืองนี้ตั้งแต่   พ.ศ. 2006   จนสิ้นรัชกาลในปี   พ.ศ. 2031
