วิภาทัพ เชียงใหม่ (2547) งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการผลิตสบู่จากน้ำมันที ผ่านการปรุงอาหารแล้วนำมาทำการบำบัดด้วยตัวดูดซับชนิดต่างๆ ได้แก่ ถ่านกัมมันต์ ดิน ตะกอน เบนโทไนต์ และเซลลูโลส โดยการศึกษาระยะเวลาและตัวดูดซับแต่ละชนิดทีใช้ในการ บำบัดสีของน้ำมัน โดยวิเคราะห์ด้วยเครื่องอัลตร้าไวโอเลตสเปกโทสโกปี และทำการวิเคราะห์ น้ำมัน ตรวจสอบค่าแซพอนิฟีเคชันโดยวิธี AOAC พบว่าทีเวลา 15 นาที ตัวดูดซับแต่ละชนิด จะให้ค่าแซพอนิฟีเคชันสูงสุดดังนี้เมือใช้เบนโทไนต์ 20 กรัม จะได้ค่าแซพอนิฟีเคชัน 359.04 ถ่านกัมมันต์และดินตะกอนในปริมาณ 5 กรัม จะได้ค่าแซพอนิฟีเคชันเท่ากันคือ 288.92 และเซลลูโลส 5 กรัม จะมีค่าเท่ากับ 274.69 ส่วนค่าแซพอนิฟีเคชันของน้ำมันทียังไม่ได้ผ่าน การบำบัดมีค่าเท่ากับ 204.47

แก้ว หิรัญเกิด (2549) ศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของน้ำมันประเภทต่างๆ ในการนํามาผลิตสบู่ โดยทําการศึกษาทดลองกับน้ำมัน 8 ชนิด ได้แก่ น้ำมันเมล็ดดอกทานตะวัน , น้ำมันรําข้าว , น้ำมัน มะกอก, น้ำมันปาล์ม , น้ำ มันถัวเหลือง , น้ำมันงา , น้ำมันข้าวโพด และน้ำมันทีใช้แล้ว แล้วนําน้ำมันแต่ ละชนิดมาผลิตเป็ นสบู่ประเภทต่างๆ แต่น้ำมันเมล็ดดอกทานตะวันกับน้ำมันถัวเหลืองไม่แข็งตัว เป็ นก้อนสบู่ และสําหรับสบู่ชนิดทีหน้าสนใจคือสบู่จากน้ำมันทีใช้แล้ว เพราะเป็ นการนําน้ำมัน กลับมาใช้ใหม่ซึงส่งผลทําให้สามารถลดปริมาณของเสียได้โดยอาจนํามาใช้งานในประเภทของสบู่ ซักล้าง แต่ไม่เหมาะสมทีจะนํามาเป็ นตัวถูเพราะมีกลิ่นทีเปลื้องไปจากเดิมจากนั้นนําสบู่ทีได้มา ทดสอบความคงตัวของสบู่ และประสิทธิภาพในการยับยังแบคทีเรีย , Escherichia coli พบว่าในสบู่ น้ำมันปาล์มมีความสามารถในการยับยั้ง มากที่สุดคือมีปริมาณเชื้อขึ้นน้อยทีสุดส่วนสบู่ทีมีปริมาณ เชื้อมากทีสุดคือสบู่น้ำมันใช้แล้วที่ใช้แล้ว การทดสอบความคงตัวสูงสุดคือสบู่น้ำมันปาล์มโดยมี ค่าเฉลี่ยน้ำหนักที่ลดลงเพียง 0.61396 กรัม สบู่น้ำมันทีใช้แล้วมีค่าความคงตัวเฉลี่ย 0.95742 กรัม สบู่น้ำมันมะกอกมีค่าความคงตัวเฉลี่ย 2.08886 กรัม สบู่น้ำมันข้าวโพดมีค่าความคงตัวเฉลี่ย 2.755898 กรัม สบู่น้ำมันรำข้าวมีค่าความคงตัวเฉลี่ย 2.24904 กรัม สบู่น้ำมันงามีค่าความคงตัวเฉลี่ย 2.58366 กรัม จากการสังเกตปริมาณฟองพบว่าสบู่น้ำมันปาล์มมีปริมาณฟองมากที่สุด และสบู่น้ำมันงามีปริมาณฟองน้อยที่สุด
ดาริน ชิณแสน (2549) ได้ทําการวิจัย เรือง สบู่หอมกันยุง ซึงการศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาเทคนิคการผลิตสบู่ไล่ยุงจากนน้ำมันตะไคร้หอม โดยมีส่วนผสมสำคัญคือ น้ำมันตะไคร้หอม 5 , 10 ,15 มิลลิลิตร น้ำ มันลาเวนเดอร์และน้ำมันยูคาลิปตัสอย่างละ 10 มิลลิลิตร พบว่าสบู่ทุกสูตรมี คุณสมบัติเหมือนกับสบู่ตามท้องตลาดทั่วไป ใช้แล้วไม่เกิดอาการระคายเคืองต่อผิวหนัง อัตราส่วนที เหมาะสมสำหรับการนำมาใช้ไล่ยุงคือ น้ำมันตะไคร้หอม : น้ำมันลาเวนเดอร์ ในอัตราส่วน 5 : 10 มิลลิลิตร มีประสิทธิภาพในการไล่ยุ่งเพียง 5 นาที ต่อการใช้สบู่ 1 ครั้ง
วัฒนศิริ (2551) ศึกษาวิจัยปัญหาพิเศษเรื่อง การศึกษาการแต่งสีธรรมชาติในสบู่ ธรรมชาติ โดยทีการศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการแต่งสีในสบู่ธรรมชาติ ทั้งแบบสบู่ก้อน และสบู่ใสด้วยสีธรรมชาติสีธรรมชาติจากพืช 5 ชนิด คือ แฮ่ม ดอกคําฝอย ฝาง อัญชัน และ ขมิhนชัน เตรียมโดยการสกัดด้วยวิธีรีฟลักซ์โดยใช้น้ำกลั่นเป็นตัวทําละลายและสกัดด้วยวิธีมาเซอร์เรชันโดยใช้แอลกอฮอล์ 60 เปอร์เซ็นต์เป็นตัวทําละลาย จากผลการศึกษา พบว่าสีธรรมชาติทีเตรียม จาก ดอกคําฝอย ขมิ้นชัน และฝาง ซึงสกัดด้วยวิธีมาเซอร์เรชันสามารถใช้เป็นสารแต่งสีในสบู่ ธรรมชาติได้ นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าการเติมกรดซีตริกจะปรับค่าความเป็นกรดด่างของสบู่ธรรมชาติ ให้อยู่ในช่วง 7-10 ได้จากการศึกษาข้างต้น สามารถสรุปได้ว่า สีธรรมชาติจากพืช 3 ชนิดทีศึกษา สามารถนํามาแต่งสีสบู่ธรรมชาติได้ นอกจากนั้นควรมีการศึกษาความคงสภาพของสีธรรมชาติ เพิ่มเติมในอนาคตต่อไป
นงเยาว์เทพยา (2551) ได้ทําการวิจัย เรือง สบู่ ซึงสบู่เป็นเครื่องสําอางชนิดหนึ่งทีใช้ใน การทําความสะอาดร่างกาย เดิมใช้เพื่อทําความสะอาดร่างกายเท่านั้น ปัจจุบันกระบวนการผลิตสบู่มี การเพิ่มส่วนผสมอื่น ๆ เพื่อให้สบู่มีสรรพคุณตรงตามความต้องการของผู้บริโภคมากขึ้น เช่น มีสีสัน ที่สวยงามน่าใช้ มีกลิ่นหอม และมีสรรพคุณทางยาในทางการค้ามีการใช้สารสังเคราะห์เพิ่มขึ้น ทำให้ ผลิตภัณฑ์น่าใช้ บรรจุภัณฑ์สวยงาม แต่แฝงไปด้วยสารเคมีทีเป็นอันตราย มีพิษตกค้างและราคาสูง ปัจจุบันนิยมใช้พืชสมุนไพรทีมีอยู่ในธรรมชาติมาเป็นส่วนผสมเพิ่มเติมในสบู่แทนการใช้สารเคมี สังเคราะห์พืชสมุนไพรทีใช้มีสารสำคัญและมีสรรพคุณทางยา เช่น มีน้ำมันหอมระเหยทีมีกลิ่น เฉพาะ ใช้ในการบำบัดโรค มีสีสันสวยงาม หาง่าย ราคาถูก ประหยัด ปลอดภัย ไร้สารสังเคราะห์ และไม่มีพิษตกค้าง ทำให้สบู่สมุนไพรทีผลิตขึ้นจากผลิตภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติมีคุณลักษณะเฉพาะที่ หลากหลาย จึงเป็นบทพิสูจน์ให้เห็นถึงความมหัศจรรย์ของสบู่สมุนไพรทีมีคุณค่ายิงของภูมิปัญญาไทย
รัตณี ถานกุมมา (2551) ได้ทําการวิจัย เรือง การศึกษาวิธีการทําผลิตภัณฑ์สบู่ก้อนใส สมุนไพร โดยใช้สมุนไพรทีได้จากวัสดุเหลือทิ้งจากกระบวนการผลิตของบริษัทเขาค้อทะเลภู จํากัด ซึ่งได้แก่ กากงา มาทําเป็นส่วนผสมของสบู่ก้อนใส เพื่อเป็นการเพิ่มมูลค่าของวัสดุเหลือทิ้ง โดยใช้ น้ำมันมะพร้าว น้ำมันเมล็ดทานตะวัน น้ำมันละหุ่ง น้ำมันรําข้าว น้ำมันถัวเหลือง ในอัตราส่วนผสม ทีแตกต่างกันทั้งหมด3 สูตร พบว่าผู้ทดสอบใช้มีความพึงพอใจในสบู่ก้อนใสสมุนไพร สูตรที่ 1 มากที่สุด รองลงมาคือสูตรที2 และ3 ตามลําดับ มีผลการประเมินด้านประสาทสัมผัส 3.72 2.82 และ2.6 ตามลำดับ จากการทดลองคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพและทางด้านเคมีของผลิตภัณฑ์สบู่ก้อน ใสสมุนไพร อยู่ในเกณฑ์มาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม และมาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์ชุมชนทีได้ กำหนดไว้ ซึ่งเหมาะสมสำหรับใช้ชำระล้างสิงสกปรกออกจากร่างกาย
