1.เพื่อให้นักเรียนมีความตระหนักถึงคุณค่าและความสำคัญของการออกกำลังกายนำมาซึ่งสุขภาพกายสุขภาพจิตที่ดีเป็นภูมิป้องกันให้ห่างไกลจากพิษภัยของยาเสพติด
2.เพื่อสร้างความสมัครสมานสามัคคีให้เกิดขึ้นในหมู่คณะ
3.เพื่อให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ในการทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่น
4.เพื่อให้นักเรียนมีน้ำใจเป็นนักกีฬา รู้แพ้ รู้ชนะ รู้การให้อภัย
5.เพื่อให้นักเรียนมีความกล้าแสดงออก มีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ อันเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญองการเรียนรู้
ในการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้โรงเรียนบ้านควนปริง ได้มีการแบ่งหน่วยสีเป็น 3 หน่วยสีคือ
1.หน่วยสีม่วง 2. หน่วยสีฟ้า 3.หน่วยสีขาว
แบ่งการแข่งขันตามรุ่นอายุ ดังนี้
1. รุ่นอายุ 6 ปี อนุบาลชาย-หญิง
2. รุ่นอายุ 8 ปี ชาย-หญิง
3. รุ่นอายุ 10 ปี ชาย-หญิง
4. รุ่นอายุ 12 ปี ชาย-หญิง
5. รุ่นอายุนักเรียนขยายโอกาส ชาย-หญิง
จัดการแข่งขันประเภทลู่ มีรายการแข่งขันทั้งหมด 39 รายการ

การแข่งขันกรีฑาสีภายในโรงเรียนบ้านควนปริง ได้สำเร็จลงได้เพราะได้รับการสนับสนุนจากท่านผู้อุปการคุณหลายท่าน ดังนี้
1. องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลควนปริงสนับสนุนงบประมาณ 50,000 บาท
2. คณะกรรมการสถานศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานโรงเรียนบ้านควนปริง
