Our family became vegetarians (pescetarians actually – no meat except fish) because of the way animals are treated in the factories and what not. Not for the health factor – but that was a nice benefit. So if someone orders a pepperoni pizza…we just pick it off. If someone makes a beef broth soup…we eat the soup but don’t eat any of the actual bits of meat. So I guess we aren’t “hardcore” vegetarians – but in being the way we are we don’t contribute to the support of those mass producing animal farms – but we are still easy to accommodate if someone offers to cook or buy food for us. So it works for our family.
But personally for us…we don’t purchase any meat products at all, except for fish.
