บทคัดย่อ
จากการที่คณะผู้จัดทำได้มีการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการสลายพลังงานแบบไม่ใช้ออกซิเจนของยีสต์ คณะผู้จัดทำจึงได้เกิดข้อสงสัยว่า เอทิลแอลกอฮอล์ที่ยีสต์ผลิตได้นั้น มีคุณสมบัติการเป็นเชื้อเพลิงเผาไหม้ แตกต่างจากเอทิลแอลกอฮอล์สังเคราะหทั่วไปอย่างไร คณะผู้จัดทำได้นำความรู้จากเรื่องดังกล่าวมาต่อยอดจัดทำเป็นโครงงานการทดลองผลิตเอทิลแอลกอฮอล์จากการหมักของยีสต์โดยทำการศึกษาและทดลองหาปัจจัยต่างๆที่มีผลต่อการสลายน้ำตาลของยีสต์ จนนำไปสู่การหมักและการกลั่นผลิตเอทิลแอลกอฮอล์จากยีสต์
ผลการศึกษาพบว่าทั้ง ปริมาณยีสต์ อุณหภูมิ อาหารของยีสต์ ความเข้มข้นของสารละลายน้ำตาลล้วนแต่มีผลต่อการสลายน้ำตาลของยีสต์ทั้งสื้น จึงนำเข้าสู่กระบวนการหมักเพื่อให้ได้แอลกอฮอล์ เมื่อหมักและทำการกลั่นจนได้แอลกอฮอล์แล้ว พบว่าสามารถจุดติดไฟได้ เกิดเปลวไฟสีน้ำเงินและมีความสูงไม่มาก เท่ากับแอลกอฮอล์สังเคราะห์ แต่ก็สามมรถนำมาทำเป็นเชื้อเพลิงในการเผาไหม้ได้
